Challenges ahead for the Environmental Protection Agency

The Environmental Protection Agency will likely face a great number of challenges and changes during the coming years, whether through funding or through legal limitations. Scott Pruitt was recently nominated to head the EPA, and his views are quite different from his predecessor in the Obama administration. The EPA has shown some of its priorities through the recent reversal of the Chlorpyrifos pesticide ban. The pesticide had been banned during the Obama administration, citing that it could be dangerous for consumers. There is still scientific uncertain about the danger of many pesticides, yet hopefully the EPA will be able to regulate which ones are used and how much is used before the food is sold to customers.
