Earth Day!

A couple months ago, on 22nd of April, the world celebrated Earth Day. This celebration started in 1970 to bring awareness to environmental issues. Today, more than 1 billion people participate in Earth Day activities, making it the largest civic observance in the world. This year, at the Biosphere 2, dozens of expert speakers and environmentalists gathered to share the progress that has been made in sustainability efforts in Tucson. Our very busy Co-Founder Chaz was able to participate in the discussion, and was introduced by Chef Janos Wilder who we wrote about above! Chaz explained the process Merchant's Garden experienced to begin operating, and why urban agriculture is so important to this community. The other speakers included Gene Giacomelli, and other innovative Tucson business owners like Pivot Produce and the Hamilton Distillery.
